On Screen Alerts - Sort Feature
The ability to sort on screen alerts would be helpful. Yesterday, due to the weather and power outages we had 9 alerts for the day. They would have been more easily understood if we could have organized them on our page for our readers.

Printer-Friendly Pages to Create Newsletters
Along the lines of the E-Newsletter Option:
Create a printer-friendly page that uses the Headlines App function:
The printer-friendly page pulls the full articles from the headlines app into a single-page format that includes the site logo.
The printer-friendly format could serve as a hardcopy that is backpacked home to families.
The html from this format could also be sent via email services (such as Parent Link, ConnectEd, etc.)

allow subsites to have and maintain their own set of friendly urls
Currently friendly urls all start from the root of the main site. I think each site and subsite should be able to have their own friendly urls. So you could have http://yourschool.schoolwires.net/athletics as well as http://yourschool.schoolwires.net/school1/athletics and http://yourschool.schoolwires.net/school2/athletics

Enable site directors to spell check entire site
Currently I have to use an outside source to check my pages for spelling and broken links. I would like to be able to do it in Schoolwires.

Allow links to files in the site shortcut app
I would love to use the site shortcut app on our schools home pages and label as Quick Links but it will not allow me to link to a file...only to a web page. So instead I need to use the content app. I am sure many schools have quick links to pdf files or other documents such as lunch menus, handbooks, etc.

Schoology Synch Feature
We would like to suggest a Schoology Synch feature. Olentangy Local Schools utilizes Schoology as our learning management tool and we would like to create a synch between our Schoolwires website and our Schoology learning system to share events, calendar information and news and announcements.

Site Directory and Staff Directory apps: Option to hide search
Add an option to remove or hide the Search block from the new (3rd quarter 2015) Site Directory and Staff Directory apps.
When the number of sites or staff that are displayed do not span multiple pages, the search function feels unnecessary.21 votes -
Table App Improvements
I like the idea of the table app, but the implementation does not work properly. I can't recommend its use to anyone yet because of the following:
1) You have to highlight twice before the editor pops up - this doesn't make any sense. I'd much prefer the editor just be there - people do not understand this pop-up thing.
2) If you click too many times on a cell (trying to get the editor to pop up), the content deletes itself. I've wasted a lot of time re-typing because things delete and there's no way to get it back.

Allow On-Screen Alerts to be Set for Individual Pages
Allow Site Directors to set on-screen alerts for individual pages. This would allow the public to be notified of something very important that only pertains to certain information or a certain area of the site. Allowing only site directors to use this feature would help make sure it is not over sued or unnecessarily used.

Quit dumbing down the editor
Why are the developers dumbing down the editors and forcing us to use html if we want something in some of the apps. Especially the Announcement app. Why would you take away the tool to link to a pdf (paperclip)? One of the best things about Announcement vs Headline is the ability to link directly to a pdf. Most of the site editors I know want a more robust editor and Schoolwires is going the opposite. I don't really understand how dumbing down the editor really helps for mobile responsive design.

Friendly URL Enhancement
Friendly URL has a few issues. 1) There is no place to look at all friendly URLs for all sites. You have to query the database. 2) There is no wildcard support, IE if you want to use * or % for old mappings that might be /students/other and /students/test you cannot use /students/*
3) This would also address that you have to create 2 mappings for Every URL to cover the forwardslash. IE website.com/student and website.com/student/ require 2 mappings even though it is the same page. Very frustrating.16 votes -

SEO - Customized URL and Website Mapping
There needs to be the ability to import a website site map/ url mapping for SEO. The urls that are generated are long and not search friendly. Like many other districts, our website is our main form of communication. A page that is about academics that has the following url, does not follow basic web development practices. http://hempfieldsd.orgdomain/228
