  1. Allow System Administrators to edit Calendar events

Please allow system administrators and District Level calendar administrator the ability to correct all events rather than having to figure out who entered the event and have them correct it.

  2. Restore Weekly View in Calendar App

The weekly view was removed from the public side of calendar app in the May 2018 product release. This was an essential part of my effort to keep school board members, district admin, and campus admin plus all secretaries informed of the weekly happenings.

Irionically, weekly view is an option in Site Manager.

I have no idea why this was removed other than support telling me: "Our Product Development team is always attempting to improve the user experience within all of our apps. They made the determination to remove that view based upon their own research and reasoning."

    I would…

  3. Calendar events should not render separately from a page's content

When a page is requested, the calendar events briefly render across the entire page before the remaining contents are displayed. This leads to an annoying user experience as visitors first see a collection of rectangles with the calendar events followed by the page re-building to show its full contents.

  4. Calendar: Connect "Location" to a list of frequently-used locations

Please consider allowing us to create a 'minibase' with our frequently-used locations specifically for the Calendar? The Location option is a wonderful feature, but we find ourselves not using it because we have to type in the same information over and over and over . . . and over.

If we could simply select a location from a pre-populated list, we might use this tool more frequently. This is a feature that is included in many low-priced or free web calendar apps, and it should be a part of WCM. You already have a minibase app; connecting one to populate…

  5. RSS Feed as XML

RSS feeds should be available in XML so they more compatible with 3rd party applications.

  6. Calender User-Interface Enhancement

We are striving to push people primarily to the Calendar area of our website to learn about all educational opportunities available, but we need more visual cues to help with user-friendliness.

We would like to suggest the following:
    - Default calendar to the List view - Be able to see a full month within the List rather than weekly (we're going to encourage customizing their calendar view to see events most relevant to them and the weekly view will be annoying because they'll only see one, if that, per week)
    - Add a small thumbnail image next to the event…

  7. Week view in District Calendar is not an option? Help!

Surely this was a mistake. There are buttons for Month and Day but no Week view. Many Parents and Faculty are requesting this. Please put Week as a view option.

  8. The calendar in it's new form is way less user friendly.

The way that the calendar looks when I am editing (or how it used to look was so much more user friendly). Right now it is hard for my students to see what I have posted there or get to linked content so they are not using it. This new update has made it so that my time spent on the calendar is wasted because it is not user friendly for them to get to.

The whole set up has gotten less user friendly than it was previously.

  9. New Calendar view is not useful

I have received negative feedback from 3 schools in regards to the appearance, or change in appearance, of the Calendar. In the current view the color coded categorization shows up in as a tight band to the left of the event, which is fine, however displaying the time truncates the title of the event and scanning through the calendar to find a sought out item on the calendar quite burdensome and tedious. Can the title be displayed first? Or as a second option each event display in two lines - the top line being the time and 2nd line be…

  10. Redesigned Calendar

    Potential problems I've seen:
When selecting an event on the calendar it creates a border around the day cell. That border stays when scrolling from month to month and back again. It does not disappear until you select a new date. People could find this confusing because it appears that the border signifies the current date.
When viewing event details it is now a multiple step process. More steps, and you now have to scroll to the top of the page to get back to Month view.
Category color symbol for an event is very small and makes some color…

  11. "All Day" label at the start of an event title prevents quick search for topics/events when using the monthly view.

As a teacher, I am posting daily assignment updates for my students. It is important that they can read on each day (without opening the event) what we did. Now if a student needs to find what day we completed a particular assignment, they have to search all over the calendar instead of being able to quickly see it in the title on the day it was assigned.

  12. Redesign the new Calendar display to make improvements to functionality

There are two issues with the new calendar functionality update: color bars too small and selecting cal event details inconsistency
The new display look and functionality for the calendar is causing a LOT of issues for end users. I understand the new look is designed to be a "clean" look for the purpose for ADA compatibility for contrast, which is perfectly fine and worked very well for that purpose, the issue is it went TOO far and took the functionality of the color categorizing away for the other 97% of users. (Roughly 3.1 - 3.3% of users have a either…

  14. Calendar Import Fields: Add fields for full Location

We import our district calendar events, board of education meetings and all athletics events into the calendars, but unfortunately the calendar import does not allow for us to include the full information/address for the Location of the events. Please add Address, City, State and Zipcode fields as those that can be imported via an Excel .csv file.

  15. Adding Calendar Events

Allow Calendar events to be put in by Period number rather than by time and show the Period numbers in chronological order, i.e., Per 1 - Smith, Per 3 - Jones. Events can be added this way currently, but they often do not show in chronological order. This is very helpful for librarians, computer lab assistants, and other Special teachers when posting on their Calandars

  16. PUSHING calendar events to higher level calendars WITHOUT NEEDING APPROVAL

I should be able to give permission for CERTAIN users to be able to PUSH calendar events to higher level calendars WITHOUT WAITING FOR APPROVAL.

  17. Add any time selection on calendar events

Schools do not operate on five minute increments. The calendar should let you pick the actual time school dismisses, 2:18 p.m., not 2:15 and not 2:20.

  18. Google Calendar Author Privacy

Once a Google calendar is synced, the person who adds an event shows up when someone clicks directly on a event. Usually their name and email address. This information should have a privacy editing option, since the person who adds an event may not be the main contact for that event. Should have the option also to be left blank regardless of who added info.

  19. Event Calendar

It would be so nice if the calendar did not default back to the present day. I don't know how many times I have been entering an event three months into the year and then realize it had defaulted back to the present day. If I'm entering events in May, it would be nice for the Calendar to stay in May and not take me all the way back to September.

  20. "All Day" should not be the default time showing up for calendar events that do not have a specific time associated with them.

For example - if you wish to indicated that January 17 is an Early Dismissal Day, but do not wish to indicate on calendar interface a start time or an end time (because different buildings start and end as different times), it shows up as an All Day event. That is confusing for the end user. Exam Days for us are partial days, but with varying end times, which are clarified when the event is clicked on. But since we are not indicating a start or end time, on the calendar interface it shows up as an All Day event.
