  1. E-newsletter option

I would like to see a WYSIWYG tool to create dynamic e-newsletters that could be hosted on the Schoolwires site, and the html could also sent via email services (such as Parent Link). Constant Contact and others offer this, but I would like to see it integrated with Schoolwires / Blackboard and hosted on our own site.

  2. Digest of e-Alerts

It would be nice to get a digest of e-alerts or know when e-alerts are sent in some sort of database. So often parents don't get e-alerts (often due to spam filters or invalid email addresses) but know that it was sent because of friends. I don't know from where the alert was sent, but it'd be helpful to track those down.

  3. Allow e-alert subscription at the Page level instead of Section level

Right now a User can only subscribe to e-alerts at the Section level. Generally speaking, teachers only have one Section and all their Pages are contained in that one Section. If a teacher, for example, has a Page for her Biology class and a different Page for her Chemistry class (both in the same Section), there's no way for a User to subscribe to e-alerts from the ONLY the Biology Page. The user would have to subscribe at the Section level and then receive e-alerts for both the Biology Page AND the Chemistry Page. As a Parent or Student this…

  4. Build a passport to allow people to send Broadcast E-Alerts

we have had districts ask lately if there is a way to allow someone (usually the Superintendent or principal) to send broadcast alerts without giving them site director access. I can see this enhancement being very valuable to districts. With C2 they can grant site director access and the person will not have access to everything like they would in C1 (if they don't have the site director passport) but it is still not enough. I hope it is possible to build a passport that will give someone access to send broadcasts.

  5. subscription

Please provide the ability to prevent users from subscribing to specific areas of the website. Currently, we have some sections that are hidden in channel navigation, or sections that are solely being used as hyperlinks. In cases like these, we do not want users to be able to see or subscribe to these items in the "Other Areas of Interest" tab in the "Manage Subscriptions" window. Perhaps a checkbox can be added to the "Section Options" screen to provide the ability to exclude that section from the list of subscription options. Additionally, channels with no viewable sections should be excluded…

  6. Broadcast Email Attachments

There is a need, at times, to include attachments to Broadcast emails. Please add this to the system in the future.

  7. Manually change Sender of E-alert emails (if not being sent by Section Contact)

This is a continuation of another idea, but since I can't leave comments on any others (comment seems like it should post but never appears on refresh)... It should be an option for the sender of an E-alert to enter his/her name and email address. We have some staff members who share sections so using one set of contact info does not always work. It would be helpful if there was a checkbox to "unlock" the sender info when the E-alert message appears.

  8. Simplify E-Alert Subscriptions

The revised method for subscribing to content seems much less user friendly. I've revised the instructions I send to parents/students. However, I'm hoping you will add an easier method for doing this. Perhaps a screen that has a site-wide search box (like the previous version) AND a navigational tree beneath it?

  9. Content E-Alerts send from Section contact (instead of Site Contact)

Currently, when a teacher sends out a content E-Alert from his/her section, the resulting email shows the "from" address to be that of the Site Contact. It would be very nice to be able to use the section's contact address as the from address.

This would allow parents to easily see and understand what teacher the alert is coming from, and could also easily respond back via email.

  10. More control over E-alert subscribers

At times it would be useful to have access to the list of accounts and manually add users as subscribers to E-alerts. For internal (department) purposes, it would be beneficial to let an administrator decide who should receive email updates. From a teacher's perspective, sometimes it's easier and less time-consuming to just find the parent account and add it to the subscriber list for his/her section. This is especially true for Athletics as well.

  11. Sign up for text alerts with only a phone number at registration

Currently members are required to enter an email address to receive alerts when many of our families do not have email addresses. Can we remove this requirement and allow family members and community members to register with their names and phone numbers only?
    Thank you.

  12. Co-taught classes to be populated in teach accounts

I'd like to find a way for co-taught classes to be populated into teachers' rosters. Or perhaps be able to manually enter emails.

  13. e-alert

We use the email e-alert system a lot and I think we need a better way to manage or e-alert groups. We would like to be able to
-automatically import our parents' information from Blackboard Connect
-allow individuals to manage their subscription to the e-alert system
-maintain an email e-alert system without having to use user accounts
-automatically merge employee information into the e-alert system
    Thanks for your consideration

  15. Need formatting capabilities for E-alerts sent from pages or sections

We need the ability to have some basic formatting when we send e-alerts from individual pages or sections (not the broadcast e-alerts sent from the home page, that features is great!). The emails sent from these pages look horrible and unprofessional. It would also be great if we can add an attachment when sending those e-alerts.

  16. Scheduling E-Alerts

For example, when creating an assignment I can send out an E-Alert saying that it is created but I would like to be able to schedule a second E-Alert at this time sending another E-Alert out the day before the assignment is due. Of course, I could go back into the assignment and click "Send E-Alert" again the day before the due date but that gets kind of tedious as you increase the number of classes and assignments.

  17. Having the ability to send Twitter eAlerts through the Headlines & Features app.

Having this ability to send an eAlert to Twitter directly from Headlines and Features would help promote important happenings more quickly, but also save us from having to recreate the post as an eAlert or directly on Twitter.

  18. Make broadcast e-alerts available in all workspaces so teachers can contact classroom parents without being site directors.

Our teachers need the ability to go to their classroom and choose "e-alert" to create and send an email to the parents in their rooms -- field trip cancelled, conferences appointments due, etc. To do this now, I need to make them all site admins (not wise I think!). Without this function, every teacher is maintaining separate email/distro lists for parents, asking us for new lists, new emails, etc. Can you make this option available site-wide? Thank you!

  19. Allow customization of default e-Alert messages

The default e-Alert message will always require some customization. I would like to be able to customize the default message to make it less work to send out.

  20. Subscribers

Create an easy way to tell if there are subscribers to a particular page. Then, if you see that there are, you can create the report for more details.
