More Granular Permissions for Subsite Directors

We have found in many cases that subsite director privileges provide too much power and we as site directors do not have the option of scaling back those permissions. For example, while we like the fact that subsite directors can see and have permission to modify content in any section within their subsite, we would prefer that they did not have the ability to rename, move, create, or delete sections or channels. It is difficult to maintain a semblance of consistency between subsites when subsite directors are left to their own devices and move a section to one channel where a similar section at another subsite may appear in another channel; obviously, this makes navigating our website more difficult for those who visit multiple subsites. In addition, subsite directors are often not concerned about resource management and allocation, so letting them have free reign over the creation and deletion of sections is a serious problem when we have a limited number of sections to distribute site-wide. This would force subsite directors to consider making better, more efficient use of the sections already available to them by consolidating similar or related content. Perhaps a request queue, similar to the one set up for posting content to site and subsite calendars, could be set up to provide site directors with the ability to allow or deny requests to make changes to sections and channels.
