Make the MyWay Sunrise homepage photo gallery resize consistently
Please make the homepage photo gallery in the Sunrise template resize consistently -- i.e., keep the aspect ratio (proportion between horizontal and vertical dimensions) a constant 1.6 (like the original 1500 x 950px). Currently, the vertical dimension varies significantly in proportion to the width at different screen resolutions, causing the top and bottom of the photo to be cropped off on most desktop screens. The amount of cropping can be substantial: At screen resolutions of 1360 x 678 and 1280 x 720, the full 1500px of width are displayed, but only 460px are displayed vertically. That's a full 50% of the vertical portion of the photo missing.
I was told by support to "select images that have the focus of the image in the middle of the photo, with plenty of 'padding' (i.e. sky/floor) above and below, so that the image displays well at all sizes". We're lucky to get any decent photos of students with photo releases, let alone photos that can be cropped by 50% on the top and bottom. (Besides which, good photography practice is to NOT include extraneous background.) It's also more difficult to design a slide that isn't just a photo, but contains graphics and text.
The homepage photo gallery basically functions as a rotating banner. Templates in other platforms (WordPress, etc.) don't exhibit this aspect ratio inconsistency and cropping in their rotating banners.
