Text/SMS School Identification
When parents receive text/SMS messaging, the text comes from the same phone number each time (ex. 808-60); Despite having come from different schools or the District Office. Parents who are subscribed to more than one school (having both a high school student and elementary student) are sometimes left confused investigating which school the text message came from. A couple solutions I've come up with: 1. Assign each school a specific text number. Allowing parents to store that number as a contact for identification purposes. 2. Blackboard includes an automatic footer at the end of each text message that doesn't impact on precious, limited characters. Ex. "Sent from Bob Hope Elementary".
We've asked our schools to include an identifying sign off, such as the abbreviation to their school name. However, this isn't consistent. Especially during a crisis, parents need to know, with no second thought, which school a text was administered from.

This one is huge. I have parents with multiple kids that are getting messages form "123-45" and they are from elementary schools, middle school, high school, basketball, swimming, and more and have no idea who it's from since it's the same number. It would be great if it simply said, "From Mr. Johnson" or "From Discovery Middle School".
